...I've had a little time to crack on with the Citroen. This is what I did a couple of days back, and I've just done the second of the three sections I'll have to repair on this wing. After that, it's just finding out why the headlights won't work, a service the it's off to the MOT man to be tested :)

MOT means ... England! I pay attention when Top Gear is on. Catch me up - photo of the whole car?

Nice welds! But shouldn't you be doing something less productive while the girlfriend's out?

Correct :) here it is, with my lovely GF modelling. Bought it for all of £355. Runs perfectly fine but needs some bits and bobs sorting. NA diesel so dog-slow, but great on fuel and a cheap way to get space-age suspension :)

Yep :) bought for a grand and driven around the fields until the steering box broke. Fixed and driven around the fields until the front diff lunched itself. Fixed and currently driving around the field waiting for the next thing to self-destruct :)
It's actually a very solid little thing, but it's led a very hard life before it found its way to us.

That's brilliant. I might have to come and see you when RamblinRover gets his arse across the pond. I'll bring the beers. What else you got, and can we hoon?! (Fully aware that I'm inviting myself btw)

So 500 bucks plus whatever you want to put into it. Here in US America, of course, we can't get newer Citroens.

Hmmm, in various states of roadworthiness/disrepair: Alfa 156 V6, Jaguar XJ40 4.0l manual, Triumph Spit6, Maserati 228, MG TC, the Lada, Porsche 914/6 and a Peugeot 106 GTi:)
Of course, hooning is encouraged ;)

Newer Citroens kept a lot of the mechanical weirdness (for the most part), but lost a lot of the oddball styling. They tend to look like most normal cars, but with funky suspensions :)
They've got a bit of styling mojo back recently, new Citroens are stunning cars, but they haven't quite recaptured the lovable weirdness yet...

Argh sounds like a wonderland! I haven't got that much choice, so whaddya want me to bring? '85 LandRover Series III, '97 Defender, or '09 Alfa GT? What is most hoonable across your fields?

Ooh, either the Defender or the Series would be great fun :) the fields are currently full of horses, but there's the ashdown forest nearby that we can hoon across until the rangers chase us off ;)

Well the Defender will cost me about £160 to get down and up. The Series about £300! Or, I borrow a car trailer, bring both and split the difference. Win win?
